About Michelle:
Originally from the UK, Michelle has lived in Australia for just over 10 years. The first year was spent living in Tennant Creek NT, the second in Rockhampton QLD and then finally settling in Sydney with her husband and 2 children.
Drawing and painting is something Michelle had an interest in since childhood so enjoys being able to share some of her work through demonstrations. Her favourite subject to paint is people, in particular faces - there's so much in a face and in the eyes. For Michelle, there's nothing more relaxing than acrylic paint being pushed around a good quality canvas, it's so easy to get lost in what you're painting.
Michelle’s practice includes acrylic paint, charcoal, watercolour and mixed media. She likes to draw upon emotions and experiences of local and desert landscapes from her travels around the globe as well as in Australia.
In 2011 she won a first prize and also a high commended award in the Mixed Media Class at the Blacktown Show.
Michelle uses all of the finest materials, including Matisse Derivan acrylic paint.
