Biggest Morning Tea at BACG

This morning, BACG held a Biggest Morning Tea to raise money for the Cancer Council. Members from the Craft, Pottery and Art groups attended and had a great time.

Material Girls Down Under were invited to hold a Quilting Party for the morning. Maru brought lots of fat quarters, notions, tools and books for us to browse and purchase. Quilting bingo and trivia games added a bit more fun to the morning. Even a few of the non-quilters ended up taking home some lovely fabrics and products.

Everyone brought a plate and a wonderful and yummy morning tea was enjoyed by all.

Towards the end of the morning, we drew our guessing competition, which had eleven prizes. Congratulations to all the lucky winners.

Thank you to everyone who attended, donated or took part in our guessing competition for your generosity in supporting the Cancer Council fundraiser!

April Bus Trip to Penrith: Patchwork / Craft Shops here we come!

What a great day - the weather was picture perfect. The bus left Blacktown Showground at 8.30am and headed towards Penrith to our first destination, The Patchwork Heart. We happily started shopping with purses open wide!

Some of the girls walked down the road to Fred the Needle. They have a great range of buttons and the usual patchwork fabrics, and some scrapbooking supplies.
Morning tea was enjoyed at Penrith Patchwork, which was our next stop. They have a wonderful range of fabrics. Gretel purchased her next project, and she couldn't wait to get home and get started sewing! Rae picked out the backing fabric for the group's Cat Quilt.

We then proceeded to Fortunes and Fairies in Richmond. They have beautiful fabrics with a few specials on display.

Lunch was purchase din Richmond and we headed to Pugh's Lagoon, which was the ideal spot for lunch - good seating, toilets close by and the area was peaceful with ducks and geese roaming free.
Our last stop was at Patchwork Addiction at South Windsor. They have a great selection of fabrics and  a great deal of hand-made items on display that gave us a few ideas on how to use up some of our scrap fabric. A good shop to revisit!

We then headed home having had a very succesful and fun day. Many thanks to Robert, our bus driver, without whom these trips wouldn't be half as much fun.
