Trauma Teddies on their way to help...

A request was received by one of our members, from a relative who works in an interstate Public Prosecutor's office, for some teddies to help comfort kids in distress.

We are so glad to help out, with quite a few more teddies underway.

If any members would like to knit one, please contact the Fibre group on Tuesday or Wednesday morning for the pattern. Or, if anyone would like to donate wool to be used to knit the bears, please contact us on (02) 9622 7589 - all donations will be gratefully received.

Enamelling Demonstration - How to make Enamel Beads

Today at the Huts, one of our members, Julie, who is a talented jewellery maker, demonstrated how to make enamel beads. She has been making them for many years and showed us how simple it is to get started making enamel beads.

We soon saw how it takes a practiced hand to make the abstract designs work really well, but Julie gave a clear demonstration and everyone had a chance to make a few beads.

Next week, Julie will be showing us how to turn our beads into earrings.

PAM GREEN OPEN DAY - Photos and report

The Pam Green Open Day was held today, and it was a fantastic day all round!

The Gallery and Displays were very popular and we had great demonstrations in Art, Craft and Pottery.

Thanks to all our members who volunteered their time to put together all the displays, attend on the day and to demonstrate their creative talents. What a bunch of very talented people we have at BACG.

Especially we need to thank Irene, our Tresurer, Anne, our Secretary and Anne, our Pottery Co-ordinator, for creating the beautiful displays and our new Gallery. Everything came together perfectly and we had fantastic weather (for the first time in a few years) so people were out and about today and dropped by to find out all about BACG.

Below are some photos from the day - enjoy!

A display was set up in the rooms used for the Blacktown Show to show off the work of our members in Art, Children's Art, Craft and Pottery. We also had a display of our history, showing art and craft since the 1970s...

Our Craft group were demonstrating patchwork and quilting in the Craft room. They also had a display of some UFOs - unfinished objects. The Craft stall was set up in the kitchen of the hut with a lot of goodies made by members.  Nicole decided to enjoy some of the autumn sun we were blessed with today.

In the Children's Art room, there was a Powerpoint display of all the Children's art works from the last year or so and three of our artists worked on current artworks.

In the Pottery room, our tutors, Carolyn and Ilona demonstrated on the wheels, and several of our students came along to work for the day as well.

This year, for the first time we had a Gallery, exhibiting the best pieces of our members' work. The room was set up beautifully and really showed those pieces well.

Also in the Gallery was a display showing the work BACG did for the ABC TV show myf warhurst's 'nice'. We were involved int he episode about art and created pieces inspired by a painting from the 1970s called 'Wings of Love.'

We hope you have enjoyed a stroll through our Open Day photo gallery - next time, we hope you'll come along and join us!
